The Kairos String Quartet has more than three decades of experience playing for a wide variety of events and settings. We are eager to provide the ideal musical backdrop to your reception, party, gala, or other special event! Though our specialty is classical music, we are also well-versed in a wide variety of other musical genres—show tunes, ragtime, jazz, pop, rock, and holiday music. In addition, our cellist Cathy Kuna is a gifted arranger and has created unique string quartet settings of a number of classic pop tunes. We are happy to consult with you regarding the musical genre(s) you want for your event, and the atmosphere you want to create.

Rates

• Our standard fee for a reception is $975, which covers 90 minutes (with one short break). Additional time is prorated at $400/hour. We offer a discounted rate for cocktail hour plus reception, or a wedding ceremony plus reception. Contact us to discuss special rates.

• We ask that you cover our parking costs for events that require parking in a paid lot or garage.

• Amplification: If your event takes place in a large venue, or outdoors, we can provide our own sound reinforcement for the additional fee of $100. We strongly recommend amplification for outdoor events, either from your vendor or our system.

• If your event will be outdoors, there is an additional cost of $100 plus a few constraints. Click here for our requirements for outdoor events.

• Special circumstances may require additional nominal fees; these include travel outside our normal range, rehearsal, or other unique considerations.

• If your event lasts more than three hours and is over a customary mealtime, the quartet appreciates the provision of a small meal.
